Biography

Dr. Gerson is an Associate Professor of Graduate Psychology at California Lutheran University. He is also a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Nationally Certified Psychoanalyst, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Dr. Gerson has extensive clinical experience in both private practice and in mental health clinics with specialties in children, adolescents, domestic violence and child abuse. Dr. Gerson has been an invited presenter to many professional conferences where he has delivered papers on the psychological effects of child abuse, adolescent development, neuro-psychoanalysis, systems/complexity theory and Lacanian psychoanalysis. His publications are in the area of applied psychoanalysis, psychotherapy theory, and adolescent psychopathology.

Research Interest

His research interests include: Investigating the use of magic to engage social interest in young adults on the autistic spectrum and Utilizing eye tracking technology.
