Dr. Ataç studied Architecture, Art History, and Archaeology, earning his PhD from Harvard in 2003. He is the author of The Mythology of Kingship in Neo-Assyrian Art (Cambridge and New York: Cambridge University Press, 2010) and Art and Immortality in the Ancient Near East (Cambridge and New York: Cambridge University Press, forthcoming). He is Associate Professor of Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology at Bryn Mawr College.
His research interests revolve around meaning in the visual arts and the history of ideas in the ancient Near East.
