Open Access Policy
Dentistry Open Journal follows an open access model where all articles are freely available online to anyone. This means that anyone, anywhere can access the full text of articles without a subscription or payment. By publishing in the journal, authors agree that their work will be freely accessible to enhance research visibility and impact. Open access supports collaboration, citation, and wider dissemination of scientific knowledge.
Authors retain copyright over their published work but grant the journal a license to publish and distribute the content under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), ensuring full access for everyone.
Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is considered a serious violation of academic integrity. All manuscripts submitted to Dentistry Open Journal are checked for originality using advanced plagiarism detection tools. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized material will be rejected, and the corresponding author will be notified.
Authors are required to cite all sources and references appropriately. If an article is found to have plagiarized content after publication, the journal will issue a retraction or correction based on the severity of the issue. Authors should ensure their work is original and properly attributed to avoid academic misconduct.
Copyright Policy
Authors retain full copyright to their work when they publish in Dentistry Open Journal. However, by submitting a manuscript, authors grant the journal a license to publish and distribute the article. The article will be made available under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing others to share, distribute, and adapt the article as long as they give proper credit to the original authors.
Authors may also post the final published version of their article on personal websites, institutional repositories, and public repositories, provided they cite the journal as the original publisher.
Rights and Grants to the Author
Authors retain the right to reuse and distribute their published work, including within academic presentations, lectures, or as part of future research. The journal encourages authors to seek grants and other funding opportunities to support their research. Authors can apply for funding assistance for any article processing charges (APC) that may apply.
When authors apply for grants, they should clearly indicate the work published with Dentistry Open Journal, and we recommend that authors credit their funding sources within the article itself.
Licensing Policy
Articles published in Dentistry Open Journal are available under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. This license allows others to copy, distribute, and adapt the material, even commercially, as long as they credit the original author(s) and the source.
The CC BY license encourages the wide dissemination of research and allows other researchers to build upon the work, enhancing scientific knowledge and promoting further research within the field.
APC Waiver Policy
In some cases, the journal may waive or reduce the article processing charge (APC) for authors from low- and middle-income countries or under specific circumstances. Authors are encouraged to contact the editorial office for information regarding waiver eligibility. Waivers are considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to approval by the editorial board.
Withdrawal Policy
Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript from consideration at any stage of the publication process, provided the manuscript has not yet been published. Once an article has been published online, it cannot be withdrawn. Instead, if necessary, a retraction or correction will be issued.
All withdrawal requests must be made in writing by the corresponding author, and the request will be reviewed by the editorial board for approval. A formal response will be sent to the author within a reasonable time frame.
Human and Animal Rights Policy
Research involving human participants must adhere to the principles set forth by the Declaration of Helsinki, and ethical approval must be obtained from a recognized ethical review board or institutional review committee. All clinical studies should comply with national regulations regarding human rights and medical ethics.
Research involving animals should be conducted in accordance with ethical guidelines for animal research, ensuring humane treatment and minimizing suffering. Authors must include a statement in the manuscript confirming that ethical guidelines were followed.
Errata, Retractions, and Corrigenda Policy
In the event that an article contains errors, omissions, or misleading information, the journal may issue an erratum, corrigendum, or retraction. Corrections will be made at the discretion of the editorial board and may involve updating the original article or issuing a formal notice of retraction.
If an article is retracted, it will remain accessible but marked with a retraction notice. Retractions typically occur due to serious issues such as plagiarism, data manipulation, or ethical violations.
Digital Preservation
The Dentistry Open Journal is committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility and preservation of all articles. We work with trusted third-party organizations to archive and store published content in compliance with global digital preservation standards. This ensures that articles remain accessible even if the journal website changes or becomes inactive.
Participant/Patient Privacy and Informed Consent
Research involving human participants must respect privacy and confidentiality. Informed consent must be obtained from all participants, and the consent process should be documented. Researchers should ensure that participant identities are protected in all published material, including images and case studies, unless explicit consent has been given to reveal personal information.
Data Sharing Policy
Authors are encouraged to make the data underlying their research openly available by depositing it in publicly accessible repositories, where possible. This ensures the reproducibility of results and promotes transparency in scientific research.
Data sharing is particularly important for studies with large datasets. Authors must make data available upon request if the dataset cannot be deposited in a public repository due to ethical or legal reasons.
Submission of Manuscript
All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the Dentistry Open Journal’s online submission system. Authors must follow the journal's submission guidelines carefully to ensure their manuscript is considered for publication. A complete manuscript includes the title page, abstract, main text, references, and any figures or tables.
Manuscript Preparation
Authors should ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in accordance with the journal’s formatting guidelines. This includes proper citation styles, headings, and figure formatting. A detailed manuscript preparation guide is available on the journal’s website, which authors are advised to follow strictly to avoid delays in the review process.

Article Processing Charge

English Language Editing
To improve the clarity and readability of the manuscript, authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to use professional language editing services. This ensures that the article meets the journal's high standards for publication quality.
