Dr. Daoussis was born in Canada in 1972. He graduated from University of Patras Medical School in 1996. He received my training in Internal Medicine in Athens Sismanoglio Hospital and then training in Rheumatology in Patras University Hospital. After completing his training in Rheumatology he worked as a Consultant in Rheumatology in UK (Department of Rheumatology, Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Trust, Russells Hall Hospital, Birmingham, UK). He was awarded his PhD from University of Patras Medical School in 2006 he had an academic post in University of Patras Medical School since 2010 (Lecturer from 2010-2013 and Asst Prof from 2013 and onwards)

Prof. Koley was born in West Bengal, India, on 5th June, 1964. He received his B.Sc. degree from Calcutta University in 1984, MSc and PhD degrees in 1997 and 1993 respectively from Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Madhya Pradesh, India. He is currently a Full Professor, Dean and Head at the Department of Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, India. Prof. Koley has published 181 research articles of national and international repute, also published 8 books. He supervised 8 PhD Theses and 79 Masters Dissertations. He has 24 years of teaching and research experience.


Shabana Islam, MS, PhD

Dr. Islam received her Masters and PhD degree(s) in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, India. Her doctoral work focused on structure-activity relationship of steroidal drug-development candidates. Prior to joining Corning, she worked as a Consultant at Eutropics Pharmaceuticals in MA supporting development of small molecule inhibitors of Bcl-2 family proteins for cancer research. Formerly, she has held Senior Research position at Childrens Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA; Research Faculty and Postdoctoral Investigator positions at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH; and Postdoctoral student at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS. She has conducted research in the area of cell and molecular biology and has authored/co-authored several publications in peer reviewed journal articles. She has also developed web tools and protocols/scientific literatures for various applications (eg. cancer research, stem cells) and presented webinar which are posted on company website (Corning) that are linked to the cell culture products and resources. She is currently the Scientific Support Specialist at Corning Life Sciences.

Dr. Sarder obtained his BTech degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, in 2003, and the MSc and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) in 2010. Most recently he has been a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Optical Radiology Laboratory of the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at the Washington University School of Medicine. He is trained in Quantitative Biomedical Imaging, Biomedical Signal Processing, and Fluorescence Microscopy. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences (PAS), Biomedical Engineering, and Biostatistics at University at Buffalo (UB), the State University of New York. He is a key member at PAS in their evolving graduate program in Computational Pathology, Cell Biology, and Anatomy. He received the NIH funded Imaging Sciences Pathway fellowship in 2007. His publications include 11 refereed first-authored journal articles, one refereed first-authored book chapter, and many abstracts and presentations.

Nesrin Ocal, MD

Dr. Ocal was born in Antalya in 1978. After completing primary and secondary education in Antalya she graduated from Antalya Anatolian High School in 1996. At the same year she started her medical education in Gulhane Military Medical Faculty and graduated as a medical doctor in 2002. Dr. Ocal served as battalion doctor and health supervisor at the Military Academy between 2003-2005. She was research assistant in Anatomy Department of Gulhane Military Medical Faculty for 3 years. She worked as health chief in petty officer health school between 2008-2009 and as medical supervisor in Van between 2009-2010. Dr. Ocal had started residency training in Pulmonary Diseases department of Gulhane Military Medical Faculty in 2010 and graduated as a pulmonary disease specialist in 2014. In this period, she did researches related to general chest diseases, respiratory intensive care, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary vascular disease, obstructive lung disease, pulmonary malignancies, pulmonary vasculitis and tuberculosis. She worked at the Pulmonology Department of Hakkari Military Hospital between the years 2014-2015. She is still working in the Intensive Care Unit of Gulhane Military Medical Faculty. Dr. Ocal is still a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical and Analytical Medicine and International Journal of Vascular Surgery and Medicine. She continues her clinical researches and writing book chapters.

Abhijeet Danve, MD, FACP, FACR

Dr. Danve is a faculty in the division of rheumatology at Yale school of medicine. He has particular interest in psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and systemic vasculitis. Dr. Danve has been actively involved in the clinical research and scholarly activities. He has presented his original research studies at various national and international meetings of ACR, CCR, GRAPPA and SPARTAN. He has several publications in peer reviewed journals. His publications span clinical as well as translational aspects of spondyloarthritis.He is recipient of the Marshall J Schiff Fellowship Award by American College of Rheumatology (2013), Fellowship of American College of Physicians (FACP) (2014) and Distinguished fellow award by American College of Rheumatology (2015). Dr. Danve is an active member of SPARTAN (Spondyloarthritis Research and Treatment Network), GRAPPA (Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis), FOCIS (Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies), American College of Physicians and American College of Rheumatology. He enjoys teaching medical students, residents and fellows.

Dr. Indelli, MD, PhD has received his MD degree from the University of Florence, Italy. He completed his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2009, still at the University of Florence. From 2000 to 2002, Dr. Indelli was Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University. In 2002, Dr. Indelli completed his ECFMG pathway. Dr Indelli completed two Clinical Fellowship in the US: a clinical fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Arizona (2002-2003, Tucson, AZ) and a clinical fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Duke University (2204-2005, Durham, NC). Dr. Indelli received a PhD in Orthopaedic Surgery from the University of Florence in 2014, presenting a Thesis on Rotational Landmarks in Primary Total Knee arthroplasty. He has been with the University of Florence (Florence, Italy) from 2009 to 2014, joining the Faculty of as an Assistant Professor in Adult Reconstruction at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He served as tenured Clinical Assistant Professor in Adult Reconstruction at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at the University of New Mexico (Albuquerque, NM, USA) for the academic year 2014-2015. He has 23 internationally peer-reviewed published papers, 151 peer-reviewed international presentations, and honoured with several academic awards. He is currently member of AAOS, AAHKS, AOA, ICJR, ISSNAF, MTSG, SIOT, Piedmont Orthopaedic Society and SIGASCOT.

He has served as the Institutional Review Board Chairperson for Keesler Medical Center since 2010. Dr. Carroll’s research covers a broad spectrum of interests ranging from HCV seroprevalence amongst military retirees, genetics of allopurinol/febuxostat dosing, and the role of biologic response modifiers in the treatment of conditions such as subacromial bursitis and erosive osteoarthritis. Dr. Wang, is currently Professor of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), USA. He obtained BS and MS degree in mechanical engineering from Beijing Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1982 and 1985, respectively, and completed his PhD straining in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Sciences in 1990 at Yokohama National University (YNU), Japan. Gregg Harbaugh is a clinical assistant professor of education at Boston University where his research focuses on quantitative methods in survey research, relationships between epistemic belief and the development of expertise, and statistics and mathematics instruction in tertiary institutions. He previously worked as a community college mathematics instructor for over 15 years and served as the Academic Chair of Tertiary & Adult Education at Murdoch University in Perth, Australia, prior to arriving here at Boston University.
Dr. Harbaugh is an international scholar who collaborates with many researchers in a variety of disciplines as a statistical analyst. He has co-authored many publications, including a paper with Greg Thompson that won the Australian Association of Research in Education 2012 Best Early Career Researcher Paper. His most recent methodological research work investigates the influence of response styles on latent variable analyses for survey data. His recent academic research in education focuses on statistics and mathematics education and the development of expertise.
