Dr. Blum received his MD at the Technion, specialized in Internal Medicine at Hebrew University, and then in Cardiology at Tel-Aviv University. He served in the IDF as a Flight Surgeon (Lieutenant Colonel). Since 1999 Prof. Dr. Blum has been the Director of the Internal Medicine Ward at Baruch Padeh Medical Center—Poriya, Tiberias. Dr. Blum further concentrated on Vascular Biology and Vascular Stem Cell research, receiving his training at the National Institutes of Health (Bethesda, MD, USA; 1997-1999 and 2006-2008) exploring means for cardio-vascular regeneration. In 2011-12, he was invited as a visiting Professor to lead a clinical trial at the University of Miami for adult (mesenchymal) stem cell transplants to patients with severe heart failure. There, he discovered a key mechanism that explains the beneficial effects of cell transplantation to the failing heart.
Dr. Blum is the incoming Director of Internal Medicine Department in the Faculty of Medicine, and a member of 5 steering committees at Bar-Ilan University School of Medicine in the Galilee. His main goal now is to build a Center of Excellence in Regenerative Medicine at the School of Medicine in the Galilee, which will focus on cardiovascular regeneration and include basic research and clinical facilities.

Dr. Elkin serves as Professor and Chair of the UB Department of Biomedical Informatics. He is also a Professor of Medicine at the University at Buffalo. He has served as a tenured Professor of Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. In this capacity he was the Center Director of Biomedical Informatics, Vice-Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and the Vice-President of Mount Sinai hospital for Biomedical and Translational Informatics. Dr. Elkin has published over 120 peer reviewed publications. He received his Bachelors of Science from Union College and his MD from New York Medical College. He did his Internal Medicine residency at the Lahey Clinic and his NIH/NLM sponsored fellowship in Medical Informatics at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Elkin has been working in Biomedical Informatics since 1981 and has been actively researching health data representation since 1987. He is the primary author of the American National Standards Institutes (ANSI) national standard on Quality Indicators for Controlled Health Vocabularies ASTM E2087, which has also been approved by ISO TC 215 as a Technical Specification (TS17117). He has chaired Health and Human Services HITSP Technical Committee on Population Health. Dr. Elkin served as the co-chair of the AHIC Transition Planning Group. Dr. Elkin is a Master of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics. Dr. Elkin chairs the International Medical Informatics Associations Working Group on Human Factors Engineering for Health Informatics. Dr. Elkin is the Editor of the Springer Informatics Textbook, Terminology and Terminological Systems. He was awarded the Mayo Department of Medicines Laureate Award for 2005. Dr. Elkin is the index recipient of the Homer R. Warner award for outstanding contribution to the field of Medical Informatics.

Dr. Sarkar was born and raised in India where she finished medical School and decided to pursue a career in internal medicine in the US. She came here to the US in 2008 and completed her residency at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, PA. She started her attending career at Penn as a hospitalist in the EDOU/Observation unit. After a year, Mrinalini joined the core faculty and in 2013 was promoted as Assistant Professor of clinical medicine and appointed the medical director of the observation unit at PPMC. She does a fair amount of work with medical ethics in regards to end of life care decision making and serve on the University of Penn Ethics Review Committee and currently is running a project on patient education with the Penn Center for Patient and Family Education.

Dr. Green is the Director of Headache and Pain Medicine and Professor of Neurology, Anesthesiology, and Rehabilitation Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He came to Mount Sinai from Columbia University in 2009, where he was Director of Headache Medicine and Clinical Professor of Neurology (in Neurology, Anesthesiology and Dentistry) at the College of Physicians and Surgeons and the College of Dental Medicine. He is certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, were he is a fellow, and in Headache Medicine through the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties.
Dr. Green graduated from Case Western Reserve University, and then received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He received his neurology training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and during that period worked in the Montefiore Headache Unit of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He was later appointed director of that unit. He came to Columbia University in 1981, and then New York Medical College. He then returned to Columbia University to organize a section on Headache and Facial Pain in the Department of Neurology. Six years ago, he came to Mount Sinai to develop a program and Fellowship in Headache Medicine.
He was one of the founding editors of CEPHALAGIA, the international headache journal. He also served as the Associate Editor of HEADACHE, the journal of the American Headache Society. He has a long-standing interest in neuropharmacology and is a Panel member of the Advisory Board of the Food and Drug Administrations Section on Peripheral and Central Neurological Drugs, and also a Panel member on the Nervous System Devices Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Headache Foundation. He is the Director of Mount Sinais Fellowship in Headache Medicine and was Editor in chief the American Academy of Neurologys recent CONTINUUM on Headache.
He has been active in the practice of Headache and Facial Pain since 1978. He has Lectured throughout the world on this subject and has written numerous articles on various subjects concerning Headache and Facial Pain.

Dr. Koulaouzidis is Associate Specialist in the Centre of Liver & Digestive Disorders at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, clinical lead of the capsule endoscopy service, and Honorary Clinical Fellow of the School of Clinical Sciences, the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. He obtained his MD from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) in 1995 and his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh (2014) with the title "Optimising the use of capsule endoscopy in the detection of small-bowel pathology". He is currently working towards a Doctorate in Philosophy (on innovative aspects of capsule endoscopy) at the university of Lund, Sweden.
Dr. Koulaouzidis became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (UK) in 2004 and a Fellow of the same College in 2013. He is also a Fellow of the European Board of Gastroenterology (2009), the Royal Society for Public Health (2013) and the American College of Gastroenterology (2015).
He is the co-author of three book chapters and more than 100 PubMed-listed articles, out of which at least 50 are on capsule endoscopy. He is one of the most enthusiastic medical practitioners in minimally-invasive digestive endoscopy and multimodal diagnosis as such.
