Dr. Francesco obtained his Medical Degree at the University of Pisa Medical School, in Italy in 2003, followed by a PhD in Basic and Development Neurological Sciences at the University of Pisa (2007). He worked as a Post-Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Physiological Sciences, University of Pisa, and then as a Post-doctoral Fellow at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), in Pisa, Italy.

Dr. White is a Graduated from an Honors program in Biochemistry at the University of California, Berkeley with Distinction in 1970. He subsequently earned his PhD (Pharmacology) and MD degrees from the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. White obtained Post Graduate training in both Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology at UC San Francisco, and has board certification in both medical specialties. Dr. White has edited 15 books and monographs, including major textbooks on the subspecialties of ambulatory anesthesia and intravenous anesthesia. Dr. White has also contributed more than 100 chapters to textbooks (and monographs) edited by colleagues from around the world. In addition to publishing over 450 peer-reviewed articles, Dr. White has written 20 editorials and published over 1,000 scientific abstracts. Two of his peer-reviewed publications were listed among the Top 10 most cited articles in Anesthesiology (and he has the second most citations by any individual author in the specialty). Dr. White has trained more than 75 postgraduate clinical research fellows during his academic career. He has given over 750 domestic and 500 international lectures. In addition, Dr. White has performed over 150 Visiting Professorships in the United States and abroad. Dr. White is acknowledged by his colleagues as an international leader in the fields of ambulatory anesthesia and acute pain management, and has been recognized in the Best Doctors in America and Whos Who in North America. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA), and the Dannemiller Memorial Foundations award for Educational Excellence in Anesthesiology. Dr. White was also a founding member and Past President of SAMBA, as well as the society for Intravenous Anesthesia (SIVA) and the International Society for Anesthetic Pharmacology (ISAP). Finally, Dr. White is the President and CEO of a private non-for-profit foundation, the White Mountain Institute in The Sea Ranch, CA which supports the arts and medicine.

Dr. Kaddoum received the Degree of Doctor of Medicine from the Saint Joseph University School of Medicine in 1998 and completed Anesthesia Residency training at the AUB-Medical Center in 2003 followed by a year fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia at Childrens Hospital of Michigan (2003-2004). He then repeated his Anesthesia Residency at Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan (2005-2008).
He joined the Faculty of St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis TN (2008-2011) as Assistant Member. Dr. Kaddoum conducted Clinical Research at St. Jude and his main interests were the management of chronic pain in children with cancer, pediatric regional anesthesia, and pediatric airway management in children with mediastinal masses.
Dr. Kaddoum is involved in the Teaching of Medical Students and Anesthesia Residents at AUBMC, as well as conducting clinical research within the Department of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Benkwitz obtained her Medical Degree at the University of Wuerzburg, Germany, followed by a PhD at the Department of Cardiology and a Residency for Anesthesiology, both at the University of Wuerzburg. She then obtained a Research Grant and spent several years as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Research Scientist at the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Wisconsin, investigating interactions of general anesthetics with GABAA receptors employing various molecular biological and electrophysiological methods.
Dr. Benkwitz completed her Anesthesiology training in the US at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, followed by Fellowships in Pediatric Anesthesia and Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia at Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital at Stanford University, where she stayed on as Faculty, until she was recruited to Vanderbilt University. There, she serves on the Faculty as Assistant Professor for Pediatric Anesthesiology, and is primarily involved in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia. She teaches Medical Students, Residents, and Fellows and is currently involved in Clinical Research, serving as PI or Co-PI. Dr. Benkwitz has co-authored several book chapters in major textbooks.

Dr. Namiranian completed his residency in anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine and his fellowship in Pain Medicine in the Cleveland Clinic. He is an anesthesiologist/pain specialist at the Baltimore VAMC and assistant professor of Anesthesiology at University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Namiranian completed his PhD on the novel two-pore potassium channel TREK-1 in Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Namiranian completed his MD in Tehran University of Medical Sciences, the number one medical school in Iran. During his MD thesis, he studied the opioid system in cholestasis.
